the Japanese edit: Manase bus stop
The latest Delikatessen editorial by Mathieu Peladan and his wife took place at the iconic Manase Bus Stop (真名瀬バス停) in Hayama, on the Miura Peninsula. This scenic location, located right by the seawall on Manase Beach, has gained recognition as a viewing point where Mount Fuji can be seen on clear days. The stop offers an unobstructed view of the Pacific, a red torii gate standing sentinel on nearby Najima Island, and the distant silhouette of Japan's most iconic mountain.
Served by Keikyu buses with regular service throughout the day, the Manase Bus Stop has become a magnet for visitors drawn to its understated geometry and dramatic coastal setting. The location embodies a particular Japanese aesthetic – functional architecture enhanced by nature, where everyday infrastructure becomes a stage for contemplation.
The setting proved ideal for our recycled denim collection. Captured against this intersection of land, sea, and sky, the garments appear both contemporary and timeless, reflecting our commitment to creating clothing that transcends seasonal trends.
